Make an IMPACT
Brown Smith Wallace is now accepting applications to participate in our 2013 IMPACT Leadership Experience, which will take place June 20 and 21. Applications are due Friday, March 1, 2013. Click here to learn more about the application process and to begin your application.
Program Overview
IMPACT was created to provide 20 public accounting students an exclusive opportunity to participate in their intended field, strengthen their leadership skills and prepare for their first internship.
The two-day session is intensive and rewarding. Students participate in real-world tax, audit and risk simulations and engage in presentations designed to help prepare them for a career in public accounting.
Students work closely with firm leadership, and at the end of the session they walk away with refined leadership and professional etiquette skills, which are essential to success in the industry.

Our 2012 IMPACT students learned how to make A Measurable DifferenceTM in their future careers during Brown Smith Wallace’s inaugural student leadership experience on June 14 and 15. In addition to hands-on information sessions and lunch with members of the firm, the students spent a little time outside the office at a Cardinals game. Below they tell us how much they enjoyed the experience!
“I really enjoyed the program and feel like I have a much better idea about the life of an accountant!”
“I liked the simulations and hands-on activities.”
“I think this was an exceptional program and it definitely got me more interested in Brown Smith Wallace.”
“It was nice to actually do a tax return.”
“It was a good glance into public accounting.”
“The sessions were very beneficial because of the hands-on learning. Others I have attended just talked and had discussions. It was nice to have more interaction.”
We thank the students for their participation and feedback, and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!
